Interim Chaplain
MARISA QUIERY MSW (SHE/HER)
Marisa brings a robust foundation in social work, community engagement, and interfaith leadership to her role with Religious, Secular, and Spiritual Life at the University of Michigan. A proud U-M alum, Marisa earned her Master of Social Work from the School of Social Work, building on formative undergraduate studies at the College of Wooster, where she majored in Sociology with a minor in English.
Hospitality Coordinator
SARAH LLOYD (SHE/HER)
Sarah has been a part of the Canterbury House congregation for 30 years! She has served on the board of directors for 8 years, and has stepped into the role of Hospitality Coordinator following her retirement from the University of Michigan, after 28 years. She spent her childhood and young adulthood at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The Episcopal Church is an important part of her life, and she looks forward to supporting students in their spiritual journeys.
Concert Series Coordinator
BRYNN HILLIKER (SHE/HER)
Brynn Hilliker is a bassist, composer, and bandleader based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition to leading her own band, she has performed alongside Lisa Sung, Andrew Bishop, Marcus Elliot, Olivia Van Goor, Michael Malis, and more in jazz venues across Michigan. As a composer, Brynn regularly premieres and performs original music. Currently, she is pursuing a dual degree in Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation and English at the University of Michigan while studying under world-renowned bassist Robert Hurst. This is her second year at Canterbury House, where she curates a biweekly concert series and assists with booking artists.
Jam Night Coordinator
DAPHNE TITTERINGTON (SHE/HER)
Daphne Titterington is originally from Portland, Oregon and is now studying jazz and classical bass at the University of Michigan. She has studied with musicians such as Braizahn Jones, Randy Porter, Nicholas Walker, and Robert Hurst, and has played in a variety of orchestras and jazz groups. She loves making music with her community members and supporting others through her art and relationships. She also likes drawing, crafting, journaling, going on walks, and eating good food.
Sound and Silence Coordinator
CHRISTIAN BUSH (HE/HIM)
Christian Bush, from Shelby Township, MI, is pursuing a BM Music Theory, a BM is Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation: Double Bass, and a minor in English. At Michigan he divides his time between theory, jazz, LSA classes, and ensembles. He has played in the University of Michigan Jazz Ensemble, Small Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Trombone Ensemble, Creative Arts Orchestra, and University Philharmonia Orchestra. He is also a bandleader, composer, and arranger. He particularly likes Avante- Garde jazz, big band jazz, and contemporary classical music. His main research focus in music theory is black experimental music, particularly members of the AACM, Ornette Coleman, Sun Ra, and others. He is also interested in contemporary French music, popular music, and free improvisation.

ZOE ARVANTIS (SHE/HER)
Zoe is a longtime chef, organic vegetable farmer, and co-founder of Zozina Catering, a catering company that specializes in private events and catering for film productions. She has been cooking professionally for 15 years, with a deep love of local food, seasonality, and the ways meals can bring people together. While she’s no longer farming full-time, she remains deeply connected to the local farming community and continues to work on mission driven projects centered around local food and collective wellbeing. With Greek roots, Zoe has a strong appreciation for the ways food and culture create connection through shared meals, folklore, and traditions grown from the land. Outside of food and farming, Zoe is a singer and guitarist, and is passionate about creativity, personal development, and creating welcoming spaces where people can gather, connect, and integrate.
