Canterbury House is the Episcopal campus ministry at the University of Michigan and a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan.  The Diocese of Michigan is one of more than 100 dioceses of the Episcopal Church, which is itself affiliated with the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Lots of very good information about the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion can be found at Anglicans Online, an independent online news source.  Recent news about the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church, particularly the Primates' Meeting in Dar-es-Salaam in February 2007, can be found there.  Our own Bishop Wendell Gibbs's response dated 23 February can be seen here.

Canterbury House is a member of the Huron Valley Deanery, together with several nearby Episcopal Churches, including St. Andrew’s, St. Clare’s, St. Aidan’s, and the Church of the Incarnation, all located in Ann Arbor.  When Canterbury House is closed due to the occasional academic holiday, we encourage our members who remain in town to attend one of these local parishes.

There are two other Episcopal campus ministries in the Diocese of Michigan:  Canterbury MSU at Michigan State University, and the Episcopal/Lutheran Chaplaincy at Wayne State University.  A new chaplaincy is being organized at Eastern Michigan University by St. Luke’s, Ypsilanti.  These chaplaincies, together with Episcopal campus ministries in fifteen dioceses in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin are part of Higher Education Ministries in Province V of the Episcopal Church.

Canterbury House is known throughout the Episcopal Church as an innovator of liturgy and music.  Here are some other sites where you can explore creative liturgy and music:

We are committed to liturgy because we are committed to prayer.  Here are some other good resources for liturgy, scripture reading and prayer:
